Hawaii weddings off the beaten path
Regarding our Hawaii wedding locations, we do not perform our ceremonies at the
common "tourist traps" used by the other Hawaii wedding companies. If you would
like throngs of tourists pointing their cameras at you, and gawking at your
ceremony, then there are many McWedding companies offering this style of Hawaii
Weddings. Certainly they are eager to have your business. Take a peek at Capt.
Howie's Favorite Hawaii wedding locations.
No slick Hawaii Wedding Packages
We don't send out slick Hawaii wedding brochures offering a multitude of
commercial Hawaii wedding packages. In fact, we don't like offering packages at
all of our Hawaii Weddings because they generally include items you may not
really want ... like a tacky cheap flower lei and a couple of cheesy "bride &
groom" champagne glasses. Yuk! Rather, all of our Hawaii weddings are custom
planned, and all our prices are a' la carte.
Traditional Hawaii Weddings
If
you are looking for an authentic traditional Hawaii wedding ceremony, I hate to
rain on your parade, but the reality is… traditional Hawaii weddings do not
exist. Because the original Hawaiians did not have a written language, very
little is accurately known about their culture and the customs of their Hawaii
weddings. Moreover, to the conjecture of most scholars researching Hawaii
weddings, the Hawaiian people did not marry at all… hence; there are no real
traditional Hawaii weddings. That said, you’ll find lot's of the McWedding
companies offering you fabricated "Traditional" Hawaii weddings, with all the
hokey customs… and often at a hefty price. One of my favorites is the
"Traditional Hawaii wedding Circle of Roses". A tacky circle of roses is laid
around the couple during their Hawaii wedding vows… and only 200 bucks. One
company claims roses were the traditional flowers at Hawaii weddings.
Interestingly, Roses were only recently introduced to Hawaii.
Choosing a Hawaii wedding company
In
choosing a company for Hawaii weddings, here's the most important issue:
Regardless of who you go with, be sure to speak personally with the individual
who is going to perform your Hawaii wedding ceremony. Make sure there is some
"chemistry" and that you are all on the same spiritual frequency. Be sure the
Hawaii wedding officiant can inspire you in a meaningful way.
The real essence of Hawaii weddings
Hawaii weddings are a sacred act. They are a celebration wherein two individuals
open their hearts to each other and make sacred vows. These vows are a divine
covenant, to be kept forever. Inevitably they will be challenged in the course
of time. Even in the most perfect relationships, there will undoubtedly be times
when you'll need to remember back to that special Hawaii wedding when you stood
there in paradise, and made your sacred vows to each other. In my humble
opinion, this is the quintessence of what Hawaii weddings are all about.
Our loving lord made this creation with incredible variety. Back in the good ol'
60's we used to say, "Different strokes for different folks." By most, I would
be considered quite liberal and certainly a bit off to the left. If you're
looking for the typical Hawaii Wedding minister… prim and proper, conservative,
and with a boring old shpeel, I'm definitely not your guy. For many, I may be
just the person they're looking for… but for sure - "I'm not for everyone".
