Maui Weddings

Maui, also called the "Valley Isle", is a very popular wedding destination. There are beautiful white sand beaches, tropical gardens, waterfalls and lovely scenic overlooks. Haleakalau reaches over 12,000 feet into the heavens, well above the vegetation line. At that elevation the volcanic landscape looks amazingly like the moon. In fact, many outer space movies were filmed at the top of Mt. Haleakalau. If you're an early riser, Mt Haleakalau is a great place for a sunrise wedding, especially on the west side of the crater. The town of Lahaina, about four miles south of Kaanapali, is rich with history. In times of yore, this is where all the whalers came into port to party and let off steam. There are some great museums that will give you a feeling the "good ol times". In fact, to this very day, Lahaina still has the same ambiance of an ol' party town. You'll find lots of good restaurants and little pubs. Also, Lahaina Harbor is where you will find all kinds of ocean activities like fishing charters, skin diving and scuba trips, dinner cruises, moon light cruises, and even day excursions to both Molokai and Lanai.

Tucked into Maui's northeastern most tip is the secluded and beautiful yet laid back town of Hana. If you don't mind hours and hours of driving along a neglected highway full of potholes, Hana is one of the top pics for weddings in Maui. Hana Bay is a great place for snorkeling and kayaking. Regarding accommodations, there is the famous Hana Hotel as well as many vacation rentals.
