Oahu, Hawaii's most popular island, is also called "the gathering place". Most of the famous places you have heard of in Hawaii are on 'The Gathering Place'. To name just a few, such places include:
Honolulu
Waikiki
Pearl Harbor
Arizona Memorial
Diamond Head Crater
Polynesian Cultural Center
Sunset Beach
Waimea Bay
Oahu is the least expensive of all the Hawaiian Islands when it comes to vacationing. Pretty much across the board, you'll get more bang for your buck. For this reason, and many other reasons as well, Oahu weddings are extremely popular. For example if you are interested in an Oahu beach wedding, there are more than 120 sandy beaches to choose from. If you like big rolling surf, the North Shore is for you during Hawaii's winter season, September thru April.
If Oahu sunset weddings are your thing, it doesn't get any better than Pirates Cove on the west shore. In fact, sunset weddings on Oahu only occur on our western shore as the sun always set's in the west. The only exception is during the peak of our winter season when the path of the sun is well south of our island. That is to say, during the months of November, December and January you can also have a Waikiki sunset wedding, but still Pirates Cove is more picturesque for an Oahu wedding at sunset.
For Oahu beach weddings during the day our favorite by far is Angels Bay. The turquoise water, golden sands, off shore islands and steep mountain cliffs make for the most spectacular photographs anywhere in the world.
Oahu weddings at sea are a good choice for those wanting to tie the knot out on the ocean. However, if you are at all prone to seasickness, this might not be such a great idea. Remember Hawaii is the most isolated island chain in the world - 2,500 miles from any continental body. That can make things a bit "rolly polly".
Second only to Oahu beach weddings are ceremonies performed in tropical gardens. Of all the lovely garden settings, our favorite is without a doubt the amazing Pukalani Falls. This is truly the crown jewel for an Oahu wedding. And Pukalani Falls Garden combined with photographs taken 100 yards away at Angels Bay, gives you the best of all worlds.
No matter what choice you finally make, you just can't go wrong with weddings Oahu style!
